ABOUT THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The Physical Education Department of VIDYASAGAR COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCE is committed to fostering a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and holistic development. We aim to nurture student athletes by providing ample opportunities to participate, perform, and excel in various sports and physical activities.

The department was established in the year 1991.since its establishment in 1991 the department of physical education of the college has been growing steadily and expanding its services in the field of physical education and sports. The physical directors have toiled hard to identify and train potential sportsmen at the right time which has yielded the desired result to the department in producing excellent sportsmen who have won laurels.

The department conducts physical education programmes both intramural and extramural sport activities for the students through out the year to promote. Leadership, harmony, fitness, healthy competitions, and other sportsmanship qualities. Professionally trained coaches render their selfless services in coaching the students in various sports and games apart from special lectures from experts in the field of physical education. The program for the student are designed to teach the age group of the youth in higher learning institution. The keen interest and motivation shown by Secretary, Trustees and Principal and their service for the cause of physical education and sports have to be placed on records.

VISION:

The department’s vision is to render physical education programme for the whole some development of soft and hard skills of the individuals in order to survive in the present competitive world and preparing youth for nation building.

MISSION:

To promote physical fitness and mental well-being among students.
To encourage participation in competitive and recreational sports.
To identify and develop athletic talent at the grassroots level.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES

We conduct various physical activities throughout the academic year to keep students active and engaged:

Morning fitness drills and sport-specific training sessions.
Inter-departmental sports competitions
Coaching and mentorship programs
Yoga and wellness sessions

Our College Volley Ball Team Participate Inter Collegite Volley Ball Tournament at STC, Pollachi.

FOOTBALL TEAM (MENS)

Our College Foot Ball Team (Men) Participate Inter Collegite Foot Ball Tournament at Rathinam College Of Arts And Science,Coimbatore.

HOCKEY TEAM

Our College Hockey Team Secure Second Place Bharathiar University inter College Hockey at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

KABADI TEAM

Our College Kabaddi Team participated in the Intercollegiate Kabaddi Tournament at AJK College, Coimbatore, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship with great enthusiasm.

HOCKEY TEAM

The Chief Minister's Trophy inter-college hockey tournament, the hockey team of our Vidyasagar College of Arts and Science secured the second place.

HOCKEY PLAYERS

Our Hockey Players C.Dinesh (II B.Com CA), P.S Kavin Kumar (II M.Com) , A.Giri Prasath (I MSW), D.Kamash (I MSW) to Participate Bharathiar University Hocky Team.The Team has Participated South Zone Inter University Hockey Tournament Organize By SRM University Chennai.

ATHLETIC

Our Student KARAN (I M.Com) Win the 100 Mt & 200 Mt to Bharathiyar University Inter Collegite Athletic Meet at Coimbatore and He Selected for Bharathiyar University Athletic Team to All India inter University Athletic Meet at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

FOOTBALL TEAM

Our student B.Barkkavi of (I B.Com) Department has been selected to represent Bharathiyar University Women’s Football team for the upcomeing South zone Inter University Women’s Football Tournament at Kozhikode

The Chief Minister's Trophy Inter-College Women's Football Tournament, our Vidyasagar Arts and Science College team proudly secured First Place. The players demonstrated outstanding teamwork, determination, and skill throughout the competition.
