ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

Department of English was established in the year 2010. The department aims to impart high quality education to the rural students with undergraduate, post graduate and M.Phil (Part time) degree. The department is functioning efficiently, enabled by excellent team of teaching staff endowed with true talent and experience. As a part of the regular academic activities, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops are organized with recent technological updates. Minimum two guest lectures are conducted per semester. Intra Collegiate competitions are organized to motivate for a healthy competitive environment. EYE (Enrich Your English) is a forum conducted every week for the students to exhibit their talents and to update themselves in the latest trends and discuss on the current issues. The students get exposure to the external environment by participating in events organized by various institutions. Students are counseled on a regular basis. Encouragement and support is given for students to participate in Extra and Co curricular activities like NSS, NCC, YRC, Rotaract,Green Field and Sports. Our library is stocked with latest editions, journals and magazines with Inflibnet facility. Our students are placed in various fields and IT sectors with a wide range of knowledge. The alumni offers extensive support for the development of the department.

English courses are pursued by students at the diploma and certification, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. English courses explore the language, its structure, evolution, and more prominently, the literature that has been written or translated to the English language

Students who have graduated with an English degree generally choose to pursue a career in the fields of academia, journalism, media, editing, content writing, advertising, etc. The average salary that an English course graduate can expect lies in the range of INR 3 LPA- INR 8 LPA.
